Physical Therapy

Foot Care of New York offers physical therapy services to help our patients gain function following a foot or ankle injury, foot or ankle surgery, disease, or medical condition. Our caring physical therapists work closely with our podiatrists to formulate individualized care plans that meet our patient's goals. Our physical therapists understand the desire, importance, and hope of being able to complete activities pain-free, safely, and as independently as possible.

Our physical therapy services include the following therapeutic modalities:

Ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy is use by physical therapists to minimize muscle pain and movement dysfunction. Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to deliver deep heat to the treated tissues. Ultrasound treatments may help reduce stiffness, swelling, and pain, while increasing circulation and promoting pain-free movement. Ultrasound therapy is a painless procedure, and many people find it relaxing.

E-stim (Electrical Stimulation)

E-stim (Electrical Stimulation) is a professional treatment that can help reduce chronic or acute pain. It may be especially helpful immediately following an injury. E-stim involves stimulating nerve fibers with small painless electrical currents, and may promote the release of natural pain relieving chemicals in the body.

Warm and Cryo Hydrotherapy

Warm and cold hydrotherapy can help relieve pain and swelling by promoting circulation. Warm and cryo hydrotherapy is a helpful component of wound healing and injury care. The hot and cold treatments are frequently combined with other types of physical therapy modalities.
